Angelic girls rooms

As soon as I found out I was having a little girl, I started decorating the nursery. I love really pretty, glittery and sparkly furniture that looks just perfect for a little angel. If you are also crazy about cute girls furniture and nursery setups, then keep reading. I scour magazines, blogs and pin boards for the best inspiration for angelic girls furniture and keep in all on my blog. Even though my little girl has the perfect room now, I still can't stop looking and admiring, so hopefully this site can inspire other people to decorate their little girl's rooms.

Two Ways To Use Pool Noodles To Protect Your Belongings While Moving House

Blog

When it is time to pack up your house ready for moving interstate, it is important you wisely pack so you can get everything you want to take in one transport truck. You already know to use bedding as packing material for your fragile items, but did you know that pool noodles also make a brilliant packing material? Before you throw away the old pool noodles sitting near your pool, consider upcycling them and using them these two ways instead.

Furniture Leg and Edge Protectors

Pool noodles are fantastic furniture leg protectors because they can easily be cut to suit the leg size. The first thing you need to do is get a sharp cutting knife and slice along the length of the pool noodle. Next, hold the noodle next to the furniture leg you want to protect, and use a pen to mark off how long the noodle needs to be. Finally, use the same cutting knife to cut through the foam to the desired length.

Place the furniture leg against the cut slit of the pool noodle, and push it onto the leg until it wraps around it. You then secure it in place by wrapping duct tape around the top, middle, and bottom circumferences of the noodle. Do this for each furniture leg to protect them from scratches while in the moving truck. You could also place a cut pool noodle along each edge of the table to protect it from nicks and dings while in the truck.

Wine Bottle Protection

Wrapping wine and other alcohol bottles in some newspaper is one way to pack them up, but a pool noodle provides better protection that absorbs shocks and knocks while your collection is in transit.

Take a piece of pool noodle that is cut 2 centimetres shorter than the length of the bottle you want to protect. Slice the length of the pool noodle and wrap it around the bottle's body as you did for the furniture legs. Secure it in place using tape. Alternatively, slice through the noodle in a circular motion until it resembles a slinky or curly fry. This is then wrapped around the wine bottle for protection. The benefit of using this wrapping method is it fits more easily around fat or odd shaped bottles.

Look for other ways you can use your old pool noodles for bumper protection during your upcoming move. Thanks to their flexibility, you can use pool noodles in all sorts of inventive ways to reduce the chance of damage to your stuff.
